These changes do not result in the certificates being downloaded though but only seem to set the tick boxes as desired. These settings are found in Adobe Reader under Edit > Preferences > Trust Manager. The effect of these 2 Registry changes was to tick the box for "Load trusted root certificates from an Adobe server" and to untick the box for "Ask before updating".
